Stirrers- A magnetic stirrer or magnetic mixer is a laboratory device that uses a rotating magnetic field to cause a magnetic rod immersed in a liquid to spin very quickly, thus we get mixing. Mixers are used as general laboratory equipment. There are various variations of agitators that involve mechanical, rotary motion of the agitator. There are magnetic stirrers with and without a heater.
